The North Jersey Mineralogical Society holds regularly scheduled monthly meetings at the Paterson Museum, at 2 Market Street, in Paterson, NJ. Visitors are always welcome to join us at our regular meetings to see what NoJMS is all about!
Meetings are held the 2nd THURSDAY of each month, at 6:30pm, unless otherwise noted.
July & August - No meeting - Summer Break
December - No Meeting - Holiday Party
6:00-7:00 - Social Hour, Show and Tell, and Mineral sales/swap.
7:00--7:45 - Club business meeting
7:45-8:00 - Mineral Madness! (A free door prize drawing)
8:00-9:00 - Guest speaker/lecture/program
Scheduled field trips and upcoming events are announced at the meetings, as well as in our club newsletter.
Club Newsletters are sent to members via e-mail, and are also posted on this website.
The Paterson Museum is located in the Great Falls Historic District, just off of Rt. 80.
To get to the Paterson Museum:
From the East:
Take I-80 west to exit 57.
Take Rt. 19 NORTH towards Downtown Paterson.
At the first traffic light, turn left (Canici St.)
At the next light(Market Street) Turn left.
Go 2 1/2 blocks, museum entrance is on the left (look for the big steam locomotive #299), the parking lot is surrounded by a black wrought iron fence.
From the West:
Take I-80 East to Exit 56B, Squirrelwood Road, Paterson. Follow down the hill and turn left (at the 4-way intersection) on Glover Ave. Drive to light and turn right on McBride Ave. Follow McBride Ave. to the end (Libby's-Great Falls). Turn right, drive 2 blocks and turn left on Market St.(opposite Burger King) Parking lot 100 feet on the right(Steam Locomotive at entrance).
Or from Rt.46,
Take Mc Bride Ave towards Paterson.
Follow Mc Bride Ave all the way to the end.(Libby's-Great Falls)
Turn right at the light. Go 2 blocks and turn left on Market St.(opposite Burger King)
The museum entrance is 100 feet on the right(Steam locomotive at entrance).
You will be parking in a well-lit, fenced in lot.
